The Laws of Country
Texts from the Laws of Country
Usually the laws of country follow the Laws of Court – these are the laws on everything which is not focusing on the king and his court. In the Iorwerth manuscripts with their tripartite divsion, the laws of country are the second part, with the test book forming the third. There are a number of tractates on different topics in the laws of country, including the law of contract, suretyship; the laws of women; the value of wild and tame; land law; the three columns of law discussing criminal law, and a number of other topics.
